Configuring the Connection

You need to set a connection default (Ethernet refers to your Internet network cable, Dial refers to your phone line):

  • Press #
  • Press 3 for Setup Menu
  • Press 2 for Communications
  • Press 1 for ComsPriority

Enter the correct code below

210Ethernet Primary, Dial Backup -- Recommended
100Dial Only
110Dial Primary, Ethernet Backup
300, 321GPRS (Sim Card)

  • Once entered, press the green OK
  • Press red X to go back to welcome screen

Testing the Connection

Once your credit card machine is powered on, the first step is to do a "Key Exchange". This ensures that the terminal can communicate with Helcim and vice-versa.

  • Press #
  • Press 8 for Host Management
  • Press 1 for Key Exchange
  • Select YES

The terminal should connect and display a "Succeeded" message. If the key exchange is unsuccessful, contact technical support. Press the red X until back to the main screen.

The next step is to do a "EMV Key Load". This loads the encryption certificates for Chip & PIN transactions.

  • Press #
  • Press 8 for Host Management
  • Press 2 for EMV Public Key Load
  • Press 1 for EMV Public Key Load and wait for the "Download Successful" message
  • Press the green OK
  • Press the red X until back to the main screen
